The deification of artificial intelligence: insanity or deception?

Published on March 4, 2025

The current situation is becoming absurd and will certainly have serious consequences in the near future. The news or "post" below, found in one of the countless channels or portals that call themselves specialized in technology, is an unprecedented absurdity or demonstrates unacceptable bad faith

What do "generative" AIs really do?

The so celebrated, worshiped and deified artificial intelligence would only be truly innovative and revolutionary if it were written in a new and distinct programming language from the current binary language, with which it is also written, using programs like Octave (free software) and Matlab (proprietary software).

When they receive a research request on any subject, they index any and all online publications on the subject, regardless of credibility, and present the results.

Artificial intelligences are not animate beings, they do not have autonomy of movement. They do not have a physical body, they do not enter laboratories, they do not carry out research. Therefore, the flaccid colloquium to appease cattle (soft talk for cattle to sleep or tall tale), as presented in this "post", is either a sign of naivety, or an attempt by a pseudo-scientist to leverage his career, or even dishonest individuals disguised as journalists, paid to make misleading advertising that facilitates the sale of products supposedly manufactured exclusively for the use of AIs.

What they call generative artificial intelligence is nothing more than the union of the four areas of AI, namely: vector calculus, neural networks, genetic (or greedy) algorithms and pattern recognition, into one through bridges or programming shortcuts (lines of code, also called "patches").

AI enthusiasts or advocates, especially those with bad intentions or uninformed, often demonstrate a limited understanding of the concept of artificial intelligence. In its essence, artificial intelligence can be defined as any tool or method that replaces human reasoning. Examples of this include tools that have existed for millennia, such as the abacus, as well as more modern technologies, such as mechanical calculators, electronic calculators, and printed tables with multiplication tables. There are countless other examples that fit this definition.

Machine learning has been around for over 25 years. A notable example is IBM ViaVoice, a dictation or speech-to-text software, which had a training subinterface for recognizing new words. Watch the video below for a demonstration. Machine training is located in the final part of the video.
